Soy/Coconut Wax!

When The ScentSmith came to being, the goal was simply to produce the strongest candles on the market! To do so, the candles were made with paraffin wax, as it as dubbed for being an easy beginner wax that emits a very strong scent when burned. This was clearly the wax we wanted to use right. Wrong! It was soon uncovered that paraffin wax was not the most eco-friendly wax and then it was back to the drawing board.

Many candles use 100% soy wax because of is natural properties, however, soy wax was quoted with being a rather difficult wax to use and the scent production was not always the best.

Finally, after countless research and 180 lbs. of wax later, soy/ coconut wax was discovered!! This blend was amazing, it was similar to our soy but fixed some of the not so great properties that come with pure soy. The addition of coconut creates a slightly whiter natural wax than pure soy, adding the the luxury standard of The ScentSmith. This addition also reduced the amount of aesthetically displeasing frosting (shown in figure 1) that comes with our soy.

Have you ever burned a candle and once it settled that top was bumpy? If so, that is good! Bumpy top is something that is inevitable when using natural wax candles. So while, they may not be as attractive as when you first bought your candle, rest assured that you are burning a natural candle.
